A woman turns her “dreams into reality” by opening a new store downtown

DREAM: Vanessa hopes her passion for retail will lead to a successful downtown business

A NEW clothing store is due to open in Blackburn town center today as a mother-of-two takes her first steps into business.

Vanessa Guerin, 38, from Blackburn, said owning her own shop was “a dream” and hopes her success will give her children “the best life”.

Boutique by Vee will open at midday in King William Street, Blackburn, next to Marks & Spencer.

Vanessa said: “I’m a mom to two beautiful kids, Kyle and Freya, who mean everything to me.

“I have a dream like we all do and that is to give them the best life possible. I have also always wanted my own business. I have the drive, passion and love to empower others women.

“Working in retail since I was 17 has always been my passion, anyone who knows me knows I’m a shopaholic and a quirky, stylish fashion follower who takes pride in my appearance. .

“I want to introduce my new shop, Boutique by Vee, to the lovely people of Blackburn and bring the town back to life, as after much research I have discovered there is a huge void in the market since the loss of many stores in town.

“My beautiful mom Juliette has always been by my side to help me achieve my dreams and continues to do so by being my business partner.

“We woke up one day and decided it was time for me to shine and put my passion in retail to good use. So here we are, our own family run shop with potential employment opportunities in a near future.

“I hope to bring Blackburn just what it needs. A beautiful boutique for all. So dress to impress and come by this Saturday from 12pm-4pm for the opening.

“I can’t wait to see you all at Boutique by Vee.”

Boutique by Vee will be cash-only at this time.
