Crown Princess Mary of Denmark dazzles in an elegant white dress

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark assumed her royal duties on Monday.

The 50-year-old was on hand to lay the foundation stone for the Mary Elizabeth Hospital – Rigshospitalet for Children, Young People and Waiting Families in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Mary stunned in a white dress cut in a chic retro silhouette and a delicate sash tied at the waist.

The long sleeves with a button detail, knee-length hemline and angled neckline of the dress are reminiscent of a 1960s style dress.

The princess added a pair of pale pink shoes to the ensemble, complete with a towering stiletto heel.

For accessories, she had a gold metal floral brooch, as well as a number of bracelets and a gold chain necklace.

Frederik and Mary were married on May 14, 2004 at Copenhagen Cathedral, with the new Crown Princess opting for a beautiful dress by Danish designer Uffer Frank and a veil first used by Crown Princess Margaret of Sweden in 1905.

Their first child, Prince Christian Valdemar Henri John, was born on October 15, 2005; Princess Isabella Henrietta Ingrid Margrethe followed on April 21, 2007.

Almost four years later, Mary and Frederik welcomed twins, Princess Josephine Sophia Ivalo Mathilda and Prince Vincent Frederik Minik Alexander at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen on January 8, 2011.
