Down Royal Ladies Day: Shileen returns home to the fashion stakes – in pictures
A Lurgan fashionista was first in a lap in the annual best-dressed competition at the Down Royal Ladies Day on Saturday.
Hileen McConville was crowned Best Dressed Woman by judges Brendan McDowell of BPerfect Cosmetics, Cool FM presenter Rebecca McKinney and Victoria Withers, Managing Director of ACA Models.
Shileen, who previously won Best Dressed at Down Royal in 2018, took home a prize worth over £3,000 including an unforgettable luxury five-star trip to Paris as well as £500 worth of BPerfect Cosmetics products .
She was not the only woman to finish first on Saturday as Grand National and Gold Cup winning jockey Rachel Blackmore won the fourth race aboard Henry of Bromhead’s 7/2 runner, Envoi Allen.
Among 20 other fabulous fashionistas, Shileen surprised the jury with an outfit that showcased both style and originality.
Her purple-themed ensemble featured a mix of designer and high street, including a stunning Cherobina dress, Grainne Maher leather headpiece, paired with a Lou Lou Sparkle bag and earrings, and Top Shop shoes.
After her triumph, Shileen said: “I am delighted to be crowned Best Dressed Lady at this year’s Ladbrokes Festival of Racing. I have a great passion for fashion and winning the Best Dressed Lady contest is such a privilege.
“The fashion show on today was amazing and I’m honored to even be considered amongst all of these stunning ladies.”
