PALS to meet
The Plum Area Ladies Society (PALS) will hold its monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. on December 1 at the Plum Community Center at 499 Center-New Texas Road. Members are requested to bring a wrapped gift of $ 15 for gift exchange and cookies for refreshments. The punch will be served.
For their service project, PALS is invited to donate lightly used clothing to Operation Reindeer for residents of Torrance State Hospital, in male sizes XL, XXL and 1X or larger, female size L, XL or bigger. Items needed are sweatshirts, sweatpants, tops, t-shirts, pants, jeans, sweaters, pajamas, jackets, coats, outerwear, socks, mittens , gloves, hats, earmuffs and shoes. New, larger size sports underwear and bras are urgently needed. Also in demand are CD players, CDs / DVDs, batteries (especially AA), radios, portable games, headphones, wallets, watches, holiday jewelry, sports memorabilia (especially teams of Pittsburgh), craft kits, puzzle books, activity books, stationery, postage stamps, phone cards, lightly used luggage, and Walmart gift cards in denominations of $ 10 to $ 20. For their ongoing service project, members can also contribute paper or cash products or checks to the pantry.
The Ladies Day Out event is a mystery dinner theater at the Lamplighter at 4:30 pm December 5th. Members attending the dinner theater should call the Lamplighter to reserve and pay for their seat.
PALS is a service and social club open to women from Plum, Penn Hills, Verona, Oakmont, Monroeville and surrounding communities. Newcomers are always welcome to attend the monthly reunion, which always takes place at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month, September through April, at the Plum Community Center. Holiday greenery sale
The Monroeville Garden Club is holding its annual Green Vegetable Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 4 at the Community Park, Pavilion 3. Featured are freshly cut conifer branches tied with beautiful arches for porches, doorways and doors. coats. Centerpieces in small vases will contain fresh greens or artificial flowers. Kissing balls and wreaths will also be available. All items will be sold at very reasonable prices to encourage donations to family and friends.
International holiday program for female guests
The International Women Club will host its annual holiday celebration on December 10 at the Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 2310 Haymaker Road in Monroeville.
All women in the community are invited to attend.
The club reunion starts at 9:30 am, followed by the Christmas celebration and carols led by club member Lorraine Balun.
