Inside the new Embe Dress for Success store
SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — A program that helps women get and keep jobs has had a facelift.
Embe Dress for Success Sioux Falls moved from 18th Street to the organization’s downtown.
Audrey Marsh’s journey to Embe Dress for Success Sioux Falls in 2019 begins with tragedy.
“I was caring for my husband for three years as he died of cancer and I just managed to manage all the end-of-life funerals you have to deal with and I felt like I was crawling in Dress for Success I desperately needed a job,” Audrey Marsh said.
The program gave Marsh tools to start a new career, including free clothes.
She applied for a job at Embe.
“I didn’t tell anyone that I bought the Dress for Success clothes. They offered me the job right away and I said, ‘See that nice interview outfit? Guess where I got it? Said Marsh.
From now on, Dress for Success customers will be entitled to a new experience.
This space featuring blazers, dress pants, jewelry and more opened downtown about a month ago.
Dress for Success also offers career coaches.
“Women can walk through our door and it’s a real experience for them where we’re like, ‘Hey, we’re going to take care of you and give you the whole experience,'” said Megan Bartel, Executive Director of Programming. feminine of Embe. noted.
It is an experience that can change lives.
“It makes you feel more professional. It makes you more confident. It’s like, ‘I’ve got all this support under me. Yeah, I can do it,” Marsh said.
Marsh is moving to Australia soon, but she will take what she learned here on the trip home.
Embe Dress for Success is hosting an open house on May 25th.
It operates from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
