Kin creates row at police station after store staff are killed
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The relative of a shop worker who died in mysterious circumstances a few days ago created a row outside Vijay Nagar police station on Saturday and alleged that the shop owner was responsible for his death. Police assured family members that investigations into the case were ongoing and action would only be taken after the autopsy report.
According to reports, Dheeraj Verma, 35, a resident of Nehru Nagar, died under mysterious circumstances at the shop on May 10. His family said it was not a suicide. The shop owner and her husband had taken Dheeraj to the hospital without telling his parents. His family suspected he had been killed by someone and demanded action be taken against the shop owner. The deceased was also associated with a political party in the city.
The family landed at Vijay Nagar Police Station with a photo of the deceased and alleged that the police took no action even four days after the incident. ACP Nihit Upadhyay and Vijay Nagar Police Station Chief Tahjib Kaji appeased the family members and assured that action would only be taken after the autopsy report.
Kaji said Dheeraj was rushed to hospital and suffered a cardiac arrest but later hanging marks were found on his neck. Police believe he committed suicide by hanging himself at the store. However, the autopsy report is awaited.
