NJ among most ‘fashion obsessed’ nationwide

When it comes to style, New Jersey ranks among the most fashion-conscious America, according to a new survey.

According to a study by womenswear retailer Karen Millen, the Garden State ranked second when it came to the states most interested in fashion over the past 12 months, just behind New York.

For its research, the company said it looked at Google Trend data across the country to find the highest search levels for fashion terms and items, such as “jeans”, “leather jacket”, “dress “, “handbag” and “leather”.

Commenting on the results, the retailer said: “Fashion has always been a means of expression and for millions of Americans, it remains one of the most important parts of people’s way of life. This study provides exciting insight into which states remain the most interested in fashion and it’s no surprise that New York ranks so high considering it is home to one of the fashion capitals of the world.

The top 10 most fashion-obsessed states:

  1. New York

  3. California
  4. Connecticut
  5. Maryland
