Laurel & Jack, a women’s boutique offering a variety of clothing and home décor items based on current trends, has opened in Ada.

At 460 Ada Drive SE, Suite 100, the store opened earlier this month and adheres to all current COVID-19 security and capacity protocols.

Laurel & Jack started out as a Online Store. After receiving a great response at the online store, Laurel & Jack decided to add a physical location to Ada. The owners said Ada’s mix of restaurants, shops and green spaces made the growing village a perfect location.

Laurel & Jack is owned by Jaclyn (Jack) Yared and Laurel Ruge is the store manager. Both natives of Grand Rapids, Yared has owned a business for over 10 years and Ruge is a recent college graduate. The duo met when Ruge took care of the children of Yared’s family. Their working relationship evolved and the idea of Laurel & Jack started with Ruge sharing his dream was to own a boutique.

“Our similar passions for design and fashion made this project a natural next step for us,” said Ruge. “Jaclyn is a firecracker and I’m more reserved, and this combination serves us well when we greet customers in the store.”

“We both love stylish clothes and accessories, but we don’t think you should have to pay an outrageous markup to look good,” Yared said. “Our goal is to offer high-end items at a reasonable price to allow women to feel empowered and strong.”

The boutique offers everything from t-shirts and leggings to sophisticated dresses, home décor and giftware. All items are selected by the owners, who designed Laurel & Jack as a complete boutique, where women can find an outfit or gift in one place.

“We think this is the perfect time to open up to Ada with all the development going on, and we look forward to being a part of this vibrant community,” said Yared. “We invite people to stop and see us when they come down for a meal or a stroll around town.”

Normal hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
