Ruby Joy Boutique plans to open in March at Olde Pickerington Village

A new women’s and children’s clothing store offering a range of sizes and accessories is considering opening in the spring at Olde Pickerington Village.

After nearly seven years of direct door-to-door sales, Danielle Rességuie signed on this summer to open Ruby Joy Boutique at 88 W. Church St., Suite 100.

His boutique will occupy approximately 1,500 square feet in a new Church Street Properties LLC building expands in Olde Pickerington Village. Initial plans called for the building to open in November, but global supply chain issues have slowed construction.

Despite the delays, Rességuie hopes his store will open in March.

“The location of this building was perfect,” said Rességuie. “I am delighted to see downtown grow and be a part of it.”

In the meantime, it operates through online sales at rubyjoyboutique.com, as well as on Facebook and Instagram, via @shoprubyjoy.

She is also exploring options for opening a temporary storefront.

Rességuie described Ruby Joy Boutique as a “plus size boutique” offering “contemporary casual” clothing and accessories for women and children.

“Usually our sizes go up to 3XL which I have found very rare in the boutique industry,” said Resseguie. “I just felt like everyone should have the opportunity to feel good about themselves and the way they present themselves.”

Reséguie plans to hire two to three employees.

Jim Good, Managing Partner of Church Street Properties, said Ruby Joy Boutique is in line with its vision to strengthen Olde Pickerington Village with independent businesses.

“We are looking for unique shopping opportunities for the people of Pickerington,” he said. “We want unique stores, different from the national chains you often find.

“(Resseguie) is a great person, and he’s a local person. We’re excited about the prospects here.”

Rességuie said his store would fill a niche in Pickerington.

“There is no clothing store in Pickerington,” she said. “I am delighted to offer something fresh and new downtown. “

In addition to clothing, Ruby Joy Boutique sells jewelry, hats and gifts ranging from handbags to tumblers and coffee mugs.

“I created the concept for people like me – busy moms who spend a little time thinking about themselves for once,” Resseguie said.
