BRISTOL – The Avril boutique opened on Terryville Avenue, offering a wide selection of clothing, clothing, shoes, jewelry and more.

Brenda Jules and her business partner Diane Higa opened the Avril boutique at 912 Terryville Avenue, suite 4, on November 12th.

“For a small shop, we have a lot of variety,” Jules said. “There is a bit of everything and a lot of jewelry that you can’t see everywhere else. It’s a nice place to stop and look around.

In addition to women’s clothing, men’s and women’s clothing, shoes and jewelry, people can also purchase a variety of natural items at the Avril store, including candles and lotions.

Having previously had a store in Waterbury and East Haven, Jules said she took a few years off when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now a survivor and recovering from her treatments, friends advised her to reopen in the Bristol area.

“It’s a great location, along a main road, and there’s nothing like it in the Bristol and Terryville area,” Jules said.

Jules said that since opening last Friday it has received a good response from customers who have stopped by. She said guests can expect to find a welcoming atmosphere when they walk through the door.

“My goal going forward is to get customer feedback when they walk in,” she said. “I want to see what kind of items they like so that I can try to bring more of that kind of thing. I want to continue to build relationships with more brands.”

Jules is also hoping to do a grand opening and cut the ribbon with city leaders in the future.

For those who haven’t stopped there yet, Jules encouraged them to do so.

“In my circle of breast cancer survivors, we have a saying: love yourself,” she said. “At the Avril Boutique, you will find clothes and accessories that will make you love yourself even more. You are going to look fabulous.
