TO FIND OUT … Opening of a new Ever Aston women’s boutique in downtown Corbin | Local News
CORBIN – Malari Hoskins, originally from London and graduated from Corbin High School, never dreamed that she would open her own boutique at just 23 years old.
“It’s been a whirlwind,” she said. “It makes me happy that I can come here every day and come to work – something that is mine and that I created. “
Hoskins, who graduated from the University of the Cumberlands in May this year, first became interested in opening her own boutique after working for the Bibbidi Bobbidi boutique in Florida during her time in the Disney College Program, which was cut short in due to the pandemic.
Upon returning from her short spell at Disney College Program, Hoskins’ roommate in the program offered her an exciting employment opportunity while working with the Atlanta Apparel Market.
“I would travel and work with different designers in the Atlanta, Dallas, Vegas and New York apparel markets,” Hoskins said. “The designer I worked for in particular pushed me, she said ‘you should open your own store’.”
In February of this year, Hoskins opened his own online clothing store, “Ever Aston”. Hoskins said the name of his shop was based on his experience in the Disney College Program and his middle name.
After hosting several pop-up shops in Corbin and Williamsburg, a storefront in downtown Corbin became available in July and Hoskins just couldn’t pass up.
“It was like a thing of God, so I just had to do it,” she said.
Hoskins worked diligently, with the help of his family, for two and a half months before the opening of Ever Aston on September 11.
Ever Aston offers women’s clothing choices for a wide variety of ages, sizes and prices. The store offers clothing sizes from XS to 3X, as well as accessories and gift items.
“I really try to have a bit of everything for everyone,” Hoskins said. “You can find something to wear to school or work, to work casual, always try to think of those girls then date night or I have party dresses for a wedding or some other type instead. event. “
Ever Aston even offers a “jeans bar”, inspired by Hoskins’ love of jeans, offering a variety of styles and sizes of jeans.
“I also have a lot of freebies and accessories,” Hoskins said. “The earrings have been a huge thing, everyone comes here for earrings so we definitely keep them in stock. Then I have candles in pulp bowls coming out of Nashville and they sold out really fast so I just had to place a giant order with them Everyone loves these candles and no one here has them.
Although Hoskins has already built a sizable customer base through her online store, since opening her storefront, she has already seen several new loyal customers in the only week and a half she opened.
“Everyone walks in and they’re so excited because there really isn’t another shop like this where you could just go and get something to wear for a wedding on a Saturday or whatever you needed without go to Lexington, ”she said.
Hoskins goes to different clothing markets where she can touch and see all the clothes in person before deciding what she thinks her Tri-County customers would like to see. To keep her store fresh, Hoskins said she constantly receives new shipments of items.
“There will always be something new, whether it’s earrings, candles or clothes,” she said.
