West Lafayette boutique rings on holiday with doors open
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – It’s starting to look a bit like Christmas, at least in part of town.
Michèle Brouillette, owner of Shop by Michèle, will host the store’s sixth annual Christmas Open House this weekend, starting Friday at 10 a.m.
Boutique by Michele sells a variety of clothing for men, women and babies, as well as accessories such as shoes, bags and jewelry. Interior decoration and candles are other staples in the Brouillette boutique.
The sixth annual Christmas Open House this Friday and Saturday at the boutique will feature all of these items and more with a Christmas twist.
“We’re taking the store and basically turning it into a little Christmas wonderland,” Brouillette said. “There will be a Christmas theme, but there will also be everyday gifts.”
Supporting local stores is very important, the store owner said, especially after the recent difficulties faced by individual stores due to the pandemic.
“Shop locally,” Brouillette encouraged. “Last year I really saw (local buying) improve. Since we’ve all had to close, I think people just like small businesses.”
Boutique by Michele wants to focus on one stop shopping this holiday season by offering not only the usual clothes, but also Christmas stockings for men and women. Multi-tool tools, grill cleaners, themed socks, wallets and more will be available starting this weekend when the Christmas Open House begins on Friday.
“My stock is shopped,” Brouillette said. “The word on the street is that not everyone gets their merchandise and stocks are low. But luckily, I haven’t had any issues with that. I’ve worked really hard since May and June to get my inventory. of Christmas.”
Boutique by Michele is located at 1185 Sagamore Parkway W, Suite 5, West Lafayette, and will be closed until Friday when the Christmas Open House opens from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; reopening on Monday, November 8, during normal opening hours from Monday to Saturday.
